sorry for the inconvenience, but STHLM Night will be down this week-end. We had a couple of problems with hardware! Ok, I burnt my computer, kind of…
So, no post expected before next week, but I don’t let you down completely and you’ll find below a couple of interesting links, so take a look at those and we’ll see each other next week again.
Hej all,
I’m gonna stop writing new tips from now and until … the next time! I take some vacation from STHLM Night. I hope you enjoyed being guided in the night jungle by my posts and that they were useful to you.
Enjoy the summer anywhere you go, party hard, and get ready for STHLM Night’s come back, say around mid-august.
I’ll maybe post some special posts if something crazy happens.
Tony Senghore is an expatriate Swede who lived in Leeds.
He plays regular gigs in the U.S., Japan and throughout Europe and made some remixes for among others Lady Tron, Audiobullys and Mint Royale. He creates music under pseudonyms such as La Cienda Honduras, Swiss T, Blue Cocteau, The Disco Duck, Shame, Slam Dance, Suburban Children of Planet Earth and The Wackdaddies. He also produced some house/techno tunes.
Anyway, you got the picture, so he’s not the most beautiful DJ on Earth (sorry Tony…) but he’s one of the one who make you dance and have fun for a night!
Tonight, Intergalactico sets up again in F12 and offer you a remix contest between Legobeat and Jeansbjörn. Who will be able to recognise the remixed track first?! You can take part in the contest since you can vote for the best remix together with 2 other judges.
There will also be plenty of Red Bull to grab from 9pm…
no really interesting post this week, just this short summary. Enjoy Midsummer, anywhere you celebrate it!

As a safe bet, I can easily advise you F12 for tonight since the party they organise on Thursdays is nice and offers good music. Adrian Lux & Co will take good care of your ears from the sunset to the sunrise (like you could see the sun tonight…).

Where: F12 | Fredsgatan 12 | T-bana: T-Centralen

You’re in town and you’re just wondering where the f*** you’re gonna end up on Friday night since everything is closed… well, one place resists to the crazy Midsommar’s tradition to close everysingle shop/bar/club in town: O-Baren!
And to entertain you for the night, Lordenzo Diskotech takes the commands to play some italo disco and allow you to have a great night this Friday!
Finally, on Saturday, it’s almost a come back to a normal situation. Stureplan reopens, all the other places do the same and you should easily find your way in Stockholm’s nightlife on your own!
Hej, I’m going to advertise for my Swedish competitor (like I’m really able to compete… anyhow…) DjungelTrumman.
They organised a contest to vote for the Best Winter’s DJ recently and elected Cristian Dinamarca at that occasion. So tonight, they will present you the winner of last season and the nominees for next one!
Line up:
Dj Cristian Dinamarca
Dj Taro

Audiofon

Kärleksjohan

Heja, once again, it’s Saturday night! Yeah, I know it comes back every week and i’m always so lazy those days that I just write one post with my advices.
Today, really quickly, three things worth checking tonight:
1. Debaser
2. Knast
3. The Office

Debaser
Tonight, Debaser has a Peace and Love Party. Not only musicians but poets and performers will take over the place. Here is a list of what you’ll here and see if you go there:

The Office
For the deep house and detroit techno, The Office is a good reference in Stockholm. Tonight, they bring Marcel Dettman who will make you get in trance all night on his deep sounds.
More info there: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=74460432710
Kornel Kovacs always throws good parties so I thought that would be nice to talk about this one. It’s gonna be a kind of underground party with crazy techno DJs.
The main points to remember:
- massive sounds system,
- plenty of techno DJs,
- cheap entrance + drinks!
After a Winter and a Spring full of crazy bookings, Hyper Hyper comes back to close its season. And to mark this event as a big thing, they decided to book not less than Mark Broom!!
I let you discover his biography on his Myspace but he’s been playing during the last two decades in all the places to know around the world if you like techno: Fuse, La Real, Florida 135 … and played with the best names of the discipline.
The party is produced in cooperation with the amazing record label Material (Greece) that Mark Broom runs with Mihalis Safras (who came during the winter). Mark Broom has chosen the talented DJ and producer Kimono to play with him as a represent of Material, then Kimono also celebrates its release on Material for its part, Kimono has chosen the techno veteran Dave Hell, this will be the animal!
AND PIGGLY WIGGLY ROSE AGAIN….
Last year theyhad a great påsk fest in town, it fucking ROCKED, so they decided to do it again, but this time with, MARC ROBERTS – SixNineOne – UK, TSLP – Live Showcase and Neil C-Word – Piggly Wiggly Head Honcho. (VJ – NRLND)
The entrance is free !!
Easter Eggs, Påsk Kyckling and Big FAT Pigs
Please make an effort to dress up in the craziest clothes you have for this one, the last one was so great that we really hope you can do the same again this year.
There you will find a mix from Marc and there a whole bunch of other goodies.
See you on the dancefloor.

What a better option to celebrate the (sented) arrival of Spring by going out tonight ?! Ok, for some of you, it’s happening every week end, but for the others, my two advises for tonight.
—-
First, let’s talk about Magenta. You are several readers looking for some info about that club. Well, it’s definitely not my favourite and replaced ESQUE which was so great… but anyway, it’s a nice venue. The Sound System is amazing and so are the lights. The music is (sorry to say) mainstream, but it’s worth going there around 1:00 am. The girls are pretty and the guys are … well … backslicked stockholmers, you know…
So have a tour there sometimes to check the place out!
It’s open from 23:00 to 03:00 and is located Regeringsgatan 61.
—-
But before going out in a Stureplan club, you could go for a drink and listen to some lovely techno music played by Axel O Boman and Dandy Digital, you know, the one who used to play in ESQUE before. Well, this will be a nice evening from 19:00 to 02:00. They promise also some chocking, provocative and beautiful video never seen anywhere else before.
So, if you want to go there, just head to the Nordic LightHotel, Vasaplan 7, rush to the bar and open your ears!
Have a wonderful Saturday night.
–
Rob
PS: have you noticed I ran out of (really) good suggestions this week?! Well, once again, the salaries come next week, so get ready for the next crazy week end!!!
The second episode of Hyper Hyper 2009 has come, this episode, we are visited by a well-known artist in Stockholm’s club life, the artist delivered strong when the club esque (RIP) was still alive and enlightened Stockholm’s nightlife with dancing and partying. A massive “Take Over” of the Main Room, consisting of none less than Ida Engberg, Pamela Bellafesta, Magdalena Säfqvist and the always reliable Mr. Dandy Digital. Tonight’s status promises to be stable, minimalistic, industrial, and promises to deliver deep tropical sound waves that will make you forget your everyday structure.
You may also visit the “The Black Room” consisting tonight of Mr. Santiago Naura (Structure), which will consolidate the Dj booth with a 4 hour Dj set. Guaranteed a journey through Berlin, Bacelonas and Ibiza’s Baleric animal rhythms. Mr. Santiago has spent the last few months in the studio to file on his next releases, so expect new material. After him, a trio will take over and lead us the rest of the night, this is their first visit with us at Hyper Hyper. A young trio of newcomers to the club scene, but with a high awareness and transparency in the world of music.
WE LOVE U WE LOVE TECH WE LOVE UNDERGROUND.

Locomotives Group is proud to add another concept to the Stockholm nightlife. On February 12 is the premiere of LIFESTYLE down to Berns dark cellar. The historic old pleasure palace has for years been one of the Swedish modes absolute center, so it is perfectly natural that this is where LIFESTYLE happens every second Thursday each month during the spring.
Fashion industry has grown increasingly strong in recent years, but lacked a place where they could meet and party together. LIFESTYLE fills a void as Sweden’s first fashion club. Come and party with designers, stylist, fashion media and everyone else!
In the DJ booth, the techno goddess Ida Engberg will take the commands. She will be backed up by the rising star and fashion director of King, Pamela Bellafesta.
Just a quick post to congratulate Cafe Opera’s courage to bring in its walls Tommy Lee & Dj Aero.
Everyone knows the first one for its kind of troubled lifestyle, but you should go there if you enjoy hard electro (that’s DJ Aero’s part) punctuated with hard-rock-like interventions (that’s Tommy’s part). Tommy Lee is good at mixing also and also ensuring the show goes to a crazy point.
This Thursday, I fly back to France… nice holidays to come, celebrations, the family, sounds good ! Except that I miss one of my favourite DJs: DEADMAU5. In less than 16 months, the Canadian based whiz kid has gone from near obscurity to becoming the number one selling artist on Beatport and the most in demand producer on the face of the planet.
His productions are a regular feature with Pete Tong on the Essential Selection with ‘Hi Friend’, ‘Brazil’ and ‘I Remember’ going on to become huge hits, whilst his remix of Energy 52’s ‘Café Del Mar’ on AATW has become one of the biggest remixes of the year.
He is no stranger to awards either. He received the accolade of Producer Of The Year as voted for by the top 100 djs at the DJ Mag Awards; beating various supremos to the top spot. This was followed by no less than 4 category wins at the Beatport 2008 Awards, a Canadian Juno Award, and Best Electro DJ at the Ibiza 2008 awards.
In every sense of the word, the past year has been nothing short of phenomenal for deadmau5, and yet impossible as it may seem, things are set to be even bigger.
There is only one thing that doesn’t make me completely mad, the show will be in Village which is the most unsuitable place for such an event… posh people who don’t even do the difference between Kate Perry and Laidback Luke, a sound system it would be worth checking and a pretty strange “i like your face” entrance style…
So, if you make it in, please, have fun for me cause I would really love to be here.
When: Thursday, Dec. 18th
Where: Village, Norrmalmstorg 4, T: Ostermalmstorg
The man behind “With Every Heartbeat” didn’t have any rest the past year, he has toured around the world, remixed some of the world’s greatest artists and been nominated for this year’s best-dressed man. Sweden’s brightest newspaper writers have called him genius and when he finally released his own album he ran the whole Sweden up and down.
Kleerup didn’t play in Stockholm since last august (080808) party in Debaser Medis. He will be accompanied by Cristian Dinamarca and Rasmus Jonsson (Addicts) and The Harasser (Björn Borgström, Superdiskant) while on the second dancefloor, Aleksander Kovacevic (Holiday), Pelle Tamleht (The Sunshine) and Daria Oudalova (Spy Bar) will take care of your ears.

I left this blog after few posts the last time and I don’t plan to do the same from now on. I’ve been enjoying my holidays and I’m now back in Stockholm to enjoy its nightlife and the many clubs the city has to offer. I’ll try to stick to one post a week concerning the coming events of the week-end. If necessary, I’ll write more often.
I hope this blog will help you to decide where to go and I’d be glad if some of you send me some reviews sometimes about the music you heard, the nice atmosphere you felt in a place.
Another detail is I really like certain clubs and kinds of music so I might miss some interesting parties while focusing on the one I like instead of trying to find the popular one…
